- Intra-oral Video Camera
We can perform advanced videographic diagnostics using an intra-oral
video camera. The camera is placed in the patient's mouth and allows
the Dentist and the Patient to see a simultaneous view of a live close-up image of
any region of the mouth that warrants discussion. This device also
allows Dr. Harelick to get ahead of small, but growing problems that the
dentist of yesteryear would have never noticed.
Video Mouth Tour
We take pride in our state-of-the-art equipment used in enhancing our
diagnostic capability as well as increasing your knowledge. With our
Intra-Oral camera you can take a Video Tour of your mouth. You can see what
we see without squinting or trying to manipulate two mirrors to get light on
the tooth.
We can print out a picture of a fractured tooth, for instance, and send
it along with your insurance form so that you receive the proper
benefits. With this invaluable aid diagnosis and treatment planning is
enhanced tremendously.
- Air Particle Beam (also known as Air
Abrasion)
Dr. Harelick recommends the use of an air particle beam rather than the drill whenever possible. Although
some patients may feel the sensation of the cool air on their teeth, the air particle beam is considered by most patents to be
virtually painless. The beam uses tiny particles of sand projected at
high speeds to do the work of a drill without the accompanying pain and no
need for injections nor the associated numbness. The air particle beam
is also more adept at conserving natural tooth enamel by keeping the
fillings smaller.-

Digital
Dental X-Rays

- Dr
Harelick uses digital dental X-rays to enhance your dental care. The process
of digitally capturing an image is a lot faster, and requires a much lower
dose of radiation.
-
- Digital dental X-rays work
by placing a small sensor in your mouth. The sensor is connected to a
computer by a thin wire. Next, the X-ray is received by the sensor which records the image of your teeth and sends it to the
computer. The sensor can then be repositioned to view other teeth.

-
- So why are
digital dental X-rays are better?
Because the digital X-ray
system is more
sensitive than dental X-ray film systems. So your exposure to X-rays is cut
by as much as 90 percent. In addition, the large images let you see what
your dentist sees, so it's easier for you to understand how Dr. Harelick
will treat your teeth. Also, digital x-rays are more environmentally
friendly because used photo chemicals and film are not
polluting our community. Finally, your dental checkups take less time, and
it's fun to watch this system work! Most patients are amazed.

- Computerized Mouth Charting
Our computerized mouth charting is integrated with our Practice Management
software. This program allows for complete control of all the functions of a
dental office. In the near future the concept of a paperless office will be a
reality. We have computers in the treatment rooms that will display your chart
graphically. We can see what treatment has been completed and which procedures
still need to be addressed.
-
- We can include a full clinical chart including periodontal conditions,
as well as enter in the daily treatment
performed on each patient. After doing a full periodontal (gum) charting it can
be displayed graphically to enhance your understanding. We can also print
out this graphical chart in color for the patient to take home with them.
